IT Engineer

Virta Health is on a mission to reverse metabolic disease in one billion people. We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to take on a pivotal role in supporting our rapidly growing, distributed team of 1,000+ U.S. employees. Reporting to the Director of IT, you will spearhead our most technically complex projects, with a heavy emphasis on workflow automation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage Mac Fleet: Lead endpoint management strategy for macOS devices; Streamline Provisioning: Drive Zero-Touch device provisioning and maintain hardware inventory management; Enforce Device Trust: Implement endpoint tools and device trust frameworks utilizing Jamf and Okta; Administer SSO: Administer, optimize, and scale Single Sign-On environment; Implement PAM: Partner with Engineering and Security to roll out Privileged Access Management solution; Ensure Device Health: Deploy Device Health Assurance protocols; Automate Workflows: Architect and deploy IAM Workflows to automate cross-departmental processes; Drive RPA Initiatives: Develop proposals and strategies to implement a Robotic Process Automation platform; Optimize Spend: Audit systems and processes for cost-saving opportunities; Build Zero Trust: Collaborate with Security to architect and maintain Zero Trust security model; Maintain Compliance: Ensure IT infrastructure meets SOC2, HIPAA, and HITRUST; Govern Integrations: Manage API keys and integrations; Monitor DLP: Oversee Data Loss Prevention protocols; Act as Tier 2 Support: Serve as primary escalation point for complex IT support; Ensure Reliability: Participate in on-call rotation covering approximately 20% of nights and weekends

Requirements

Demonstrated 3+ years experience in a Systems Administrator, IT Engineer, or senior escalation-level IT Support role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment; Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals, including Zero Trust concepts; Experience with Okta SSO configuration, user lifecycle management, and Workflows for advanced automation; Enterprise Mac endpoint and macOS administration experience (Jamf strongly preferred); Successful design and implementation of repeatable AI-enabled workflows that address team bottlenecks and improve efficiency
