JBE - Material Handling Laborer

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Material Handling Laborer is responsible for performing physical tasks to transport or store materials or merchandise.

Responsibilities

Loading, unloading and delivery of furnishings and appliances to customers; Receiving furnishings into an organization and verifying furnishings against service orders to ensure the accuracy of the delivery; Responsible for the inventory shipments and notating any discrepancies; Routing furnishings to storage location; Assisting Appliance Technician in repairs and delivery; Using material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to bring furnishings to an appropriate location; Assisting in weekly forklift maintenance; Cleaning and repairing furnishings; Unloading furniture/appliances from shipping containers; May be required to perform inventory of property

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Valid driver's license required; Knowledge of standard warehouse loading and storage techniques required; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted required; Ability to pass DoD background investigation required; Beginner to intermediate computer skills; Ability to enter data accurately into databases; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff; Effective communication skills; Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.; Ability to follow a process; Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up; Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Tunista Services goals; Ability to perform basic mathematical computations; High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently; Ability to multi-task; Ability to lift 75 Pounds; Must be able to use the bar coding system
