Lab Technician/Technologist-Core Lab

The Lab Tech/Technologist is responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures in both chemistry and hematology.

Responsibilities

Performs accurate and appropriate testing of laboratory specimens according to established protocol; Evaluates specimens for acceptability and documents problems with unacceptable specimens; Reports test results in a timely manner and follows critical value notification processes; Performs quality control and reports discrepant QC results to supervisor; Performs maintenance and calibration of instruments and equipment; Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents and patient specimens; Maintains work area and restocks supplies; Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in relevant science preferred; One (1) year clinical laboratory internship preferred; MT (ASCP) or MT Eligible (ASCP Equivalent)
