Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

At Haskoning, we work on innovative and sustainable solutions within Mission Critical Facilities, with a strong focus on data centres. From our international Mission Critical Facilities team, we support clients in the design and delivery of technically complex installations. Collaboration, technical quality and continuous improvement form the foundation of our work. Due to the continued expansion of our activities in Belgium, we are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer. You will join the existing Plant Engineering team and work together with colleagues in Belgium and across our international MCF organisation on challenging data centre projects for both national and international clients.

Responsibilities

Leading and developing the mechanical design from concept phase through to detailed design, ensuring technical quality, buildability and compliance with standards, guidelines and client requirements; Coordinating and aligning mechanical engineering with other disciplines such as electrical, civil and structural engineering; Coordinating mechanical design activities between the Belgian team and international project teams, contributing to the further development of the MCF hub; Reviewing and assessing designs and calculations of fellow engineers and acting as the technical point of contact for mechanical topics towards project teams, clients and external parties; Guiding and supporting (junior) engineers and actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team; Identifying optimisation opportunities, innovative solutions and supporting the application of digitalisation within the design process; Supporting the execution phase and aligning with stakeholders, playing a key role in translating design into realisation

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline; Several years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably within data centres, mission critical environments or other technically complex buildings; Experience in technically leading and coordinating mechanical design activities within projects; Solid understanding of mechanical installations, as well as relevant standards and guidelines within the construction and building services sector; Good command of English
