Light Commercial HVAC/R Technician

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems (WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems); Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites; Support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems; Travel between multiple sites throughout the week across the Greater DMV; Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently; Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed; Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work; Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues; Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors; Review reports (startup, testing, balancing) to verify system performance; Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality; Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions

Requirements

5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience; Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration (Walk-Ins); Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally

Nice to have

HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent); Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities; Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
