Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic neurosurgical procedures to the brain, spine and peripheral nerve surgeries; Evaluate patients through physical examinations, imaging studies and diagnostic tests to determine the need for surgical intervention; Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; Provide preoperative and postoperative care; Monitor and interpret patient conditions during and after surgery, adjusting treatment plans as needed; Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school; Residency training program in neurosurgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA); Board certification in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) or an equivalent certifying body; Active and unrestricted medical license in South Carolina; Extensive knowledge of neurosurgical principles, techniques and technologies; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent manual dexterity and precision; Effective communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure; Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams

Nice to have

At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting; Familiarization with specific state regulations for locum physicians
