Mainframe Programmer

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications; Interface with business and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate business requirements into formal technical requirements and application code; Work with IT support teams (ex. DBA’s) to ensure support and project requirements are developed and successfully implemented; Develop and execute unit test and integration plans/scripts to validate that application changes meet technical specifications; Work with business team to complete acceptance testing and participate in integration testing; Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle; On-call production support.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 10+ years of experience in mainframe development; 10+ years and expert knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and other mainframe technologies; Expert knowledge of DB2 Utilities (QMF and SPUFI); Strong knowledge of IBM Utilities such as IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICETOOL, DEBUGGER(CICS and Batch), FILE MANAGER, SORT, Fault Analyzer; Experience in all components of software delivery including requirements, design, development, and testing; Experience with CHANGEMAN and CONTROL-M Scheduling; Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting; Experience with mainframe software development tools and platforms (z/OS); Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
