Mammography Technologist

From screening and diagnostic mammograms to tomosynthesis, this role ensures every exam meets the highest clinical standards with genuine human care at the center.

Responsibilities

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Select appropriate exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Maintain thorough documentation, precise image labeling, and QA work; Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures with dignity and professionalism; Manage own workflow in a busy outpatient environment, including room readiness, routine QA, and equipment maintenance; Mentor students rotating through the department

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required; Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
