Mammography Technologist

At SimonMed, mammography is one of the most consequential things we do. Our Mammography Technologists are essential to delivering the advanced outpatient imaging our patients depend on—and in this modality, the image you produce, the compression you apply, and the way you speak to a patient who is nervous or in pain all matter deeply.

Responsibilities

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis; Ensure every exam meets the highest clinical standards with genuine human care at the center; Use accurate positioning and optimal compression; Select appropriate exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures clearly; Maintain thorough documentation and precise image labeling; Perform routine quality assurance and maintain equipment; Manage own workflow in a busy outpatient environment; Mentor students and model professionalism

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required; Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Knowledge of and compliance with ACR, MQSA, and HIPAA standards; Strong patient communication skills — especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
