Mammography Technologist

Performs mammographic exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies. Responsible for scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work, and discharging the patient from the Mammography department with appropriate post mammographic instructions.

Responsibilities

Performs mammographic exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies; Responsible for scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work, and discharging the patient from the Mammography department with appropriate post mammographic instructions; Identifies patient service requirements; Educates patients/families regarding procedure or treatment to be performed; Prepares patient for radiological/mammographic and ultrasound guided procedures; Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them for timely interpretation; Prepares and maintains accurate documentation; Ensures minimal radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques; Assists leadership with QA and QC tests and documentation to ensure compliance with MQSA and FDA standards; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required; ARRT Radiography Certification with CE credits upon hire required; CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation upon hire required; BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required
