Manufacturing Engineer, Capabilities

We’re looking for an early-career Manufacturing Engineer to join our Factories as a Service team—an initiative focused on building, modernizing, and scaling advanced manufacturing systems across aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure. In this role, you'll support the design, development, and ramp-up of factory lines across multiple processes. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, automation teams, and program leads to review technical drawings, evaluate manufacturing feasibility, and contribute to production and inspection workflows. This is a high-growth opportunity for someone who’s excited to work across disciplines, develop core manufacturing skills, and help solve real-world industrial challenges.

Responsibilities

Review part and assembly drawings to assess manufacturing feasibility; Assist in developing production workflows and tooling requirements; Support CapEx research, equipment evaluation, and vendor coordination; Provide technical input to automation and inspection planning

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment; Comfortable reading mechanical drawings and applying DFM principles; Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to work hands-on; Interest in building modern manufacturing systems and processes; Willingness to travel (~25%) for site visits and vendor interaction; U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Nice to have

Exposure to high-mix/low-volume production environments; Familiarity with CNC machining, additive, assembly, or precision manufacturing; Interest in robotics, automation, or systems integration
