Millwright or Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyman, Tailings

CEDA is currently seeking 2 Journeyman, Heavy Duty Technicians or Millwrights to join the Dredging and Fluid Management team in Fort McMurray, AB. This is a full time site-based opportunity with accommodation and flights provided. The team completes the majority of repairs in house, allowing for continuous growth and skill development.

Responsibilities

Preventative maintenance on Stationary Diesel Engines, Hydraulic Systems, Trailer Units, Dredges, Barges & Marine equipment; Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps; Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts; Interpret work orders; Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled; Ensure all health, safety and environment practices and paperwork are complete for all day to day activities; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal required; CSO (Common Safety Orientation) required; Valid Class 5 license with less than 5 demerits; Weight handling of up to 50 lbs; Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Nice to have

Experience in hydraulic, electrical, dredge and pump systems; Oil & Gas experience; Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems; Knowledge of John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines; Ability to provide own tools; Computer skills
