Nail Technician

The Nail Technician performs professional nail, hand and foot treatments. They must possess a thorough knowledge of the nails, including a basic knowledge of hand and foot massage techniques and a neat application of polish. They must possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific nail service offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests. They must hold and maintain a current state license. They must also meet minimum retail sales goals.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent professional nail, hand and foot treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices; Be on time for shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within allotted time; Be flexible with schedule, supporting the needs of the spa; Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls; Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests; Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals; Uphold standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and spa policies; Perform prep work and properly clean and restock work area; Communicate to management any occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa; Actively promote and upsell spa treatments, services, sessions, retail, programs, promotions and discounts; Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously; Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests; Possess ability to work without direct supervision; Maintain positive attitude and contribute toward quality work environment; Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings; Be aware of maintenance issues in spa areas and report to management; Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management

Requirements

Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills; Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality; Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge; Must be a team player; Must have ability to encourage and maintain a serene spa setting during beauty treatments; Must hold and maintain a current Maryland State license; Must possess thorough knowledge of nails, including basic knowledge of hand and foot massage techniques and neat application of polish; Must possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills; Must be willing to train in the spa's specific nail service offerings; Must be able to learn product and service knowledge to effectively provide beauty solutions; Must meet minimum retail sales goals
