Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

NNP's are responsible for the day-to-day management of critically ill and convalescing infants in collaboration with the Neonatologist - leading care and coordinating the efforts of the health care team. This includes specialized neonatal care i.e. delivery room resuscitation, stabilization, initiation of infant treatment and necessary procedures, prescribing diagnostic testing, medications and therapies, and providing family support. NNP's are in a clinical leadership position in the NICU. Additional responsibilities include select nursing and medical staff education; consultation; advocacy for patients, families and nursing staff; involvement in professional development and research; participation and leadership in unit committees and councils; improvement of unit-specific neonatal outcomes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing; Two or more years of clinical experience; License Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber (33) - State of Wisconsin required within 180 days; License RN - Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required; NRP; BLS; DEA number must be obtained within 6 months of hire
