Nursing Assistant I, Emergency Department

Performs designated basic patient care and related nursing tasks to provide optimal/quality care consistent with Hospital mission and Nursing philosophy, goals, standards, and bylaws. Assists the Licensed Nurse in the implementation of nursing care in predictable, uncomplicated, and stable patient situations as directed.

Responsibilities

Performs designated basic patient care and related nursing tasks; Assists the Licensed Nurse in the implementation of nursing care; Observes and reports patient general appearance, behavior, and response to care; Obtains and documents vital signs, heights/weights, and fluid intake/output; Assists patients with elimination, hygiene, and therapeutic measures; Assists with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and ambulation; Maintains a safe and organized patient care environment; Answers call lights; Supports teamwork and ensures excellent customer service

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED General Studies Required; Successful completion of an applicable state Board of Nursing Aide I approved training program/competency evaluation required; Nurse Aide I Registration Division of Facility Services Nurse Aide I Registry Required; BLS required per policy guidelines; No prior experience required
