Optical Assistant

This position is a 9 month fixed term contract for Cork and surrounding counties. We are hiring for a really great opportunity within our Retinal Technicians team in Cork and surrounding areas. The role involves Eye Photography, used to identify the damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes. Experience is not essential, so this could be a really great opportunity for someone looking to take a step into healthcare, or even someone already working in the Healthcare space who would like to develop their skillset. We have a really great, professional team, who will support you every step of the way towards becoming a specialist in this space.

Responsibilities

Eye Photography; Identify damage to the retina caused by complications of Diabetes; Be part of the national diabetic eye screening programme

Requirements

Experience is not required; Full Clean Irish drivers licence and safe place to store company vehicle; Passion for customer care and positive patient outcomes; IT literate - word processing, spreadsheets and regular use of Microsoft Office; Initiative and ability to prioritise tasks; Problem-solving skills; Great work ethic and proactive approach; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU
