Optical Assistant

This position is a 12 month fixed term contract for Sandyford, Co. Dublin and surrounding counties. We are hiring for a really great opportunity within our Retinal Technicians team for Stepaside, Co Dublin and surrounding counties for a 12 month fixed term role. The role involves Eye Photography, used to identify the damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes. Experience is not essential, so this could be a really great opportunity for someone looking to take a step into healthcare, or even someone already working in the Healthcare space who would like to develop their skillset. We have a really great, professional team, who will support you every step of the way towards becoming a specialist in this space.

Responsibilities

Eye Photography, used to identify the damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes; Travelling to and from health centres and clinic locations using a company vehicle; Working alongside Senior Diabetic Retinal Technicians and Team Leader as part of the national programme; Providing patients and clients with a consistently high level of care, skill and professional integrity

Requirements

Experience is not required; Clean Irish driving licence and own car is essential; Passion for customer care and positive patient outcomes; IT literate - word processing, spreadsheets and regular use of Microsoft Office; Initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks; Problem-solving skills; Great work ethic and a proactive approach; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU; Satisfactory vetting and reference checks; Garda Vetting may also be required
