Part Time Afternoon Teacher

Guidepost Montessori at Central West End is hiring a part-time afternoon teacher for its after-school program. The role supports children ages 0-6, helps create a calm and joyful end to each child's day, supports planned activities, maintains a consistent routine, and helps create a warm, welcoming pick-up experience for families.

Responsibilities

Support a calm, safe, and engaging after-school environment; Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities; Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space; Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way; Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition home and sharing relevant updates; Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care; Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen the extended day experience

Requirements

Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or camp setting; A reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive mindset; A warm, patient, and engaging presence with children and families; Ability to take initiative while also collaborating closely with a team; A genuine love for working with young children; Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach

Nice to have

Prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required
