Patient Care Technician Full Time Emergency Department

The Patient Care Technician shall serve as a supportive member of the patient care team who will assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care. The PCT shall assist RNs, LPN's, and Physicians in the patient care process. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Shift: Third Shift. Job Type: Regular-Full time. Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.

Responsibilities

Serve as a supportive member of the patient care team; Assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care; Assist RNs, LPNs, and Physicians in the patient care process; Perform additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent required; BLS required; Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort; Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Nice to have

Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA); Completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student or 1 year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home or home care setting; Medical terminology training
