Pharmacist 2, Outpatient - Specialty Pharmacy

Dispenses medications for patients seen in an outpatient pharmacy. Oversees and directly contributes to compounding, preparation and dispensing of medications for patients in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations for Pharmacy practice. Answers medication related questions from patients and providers, and provides patient counseling on proper medication use. Supervises pharmacy technicians.

Responsibilities

Dispenses medications for patients seen in an outpatient pharmacy; Oversees and directly contributes to compounding, preparation and dispensing of medications for patients in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations for Pharmacy practice; Answers medication related questions from patients and providers; Provides patient counseling on proper medication use; Supervises pharmacy technicians; Participates in departmental Q/A processes; Participates in education of other Pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals; Performs required duties of charge pharmacist when scheduled

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and less than 1 year of relevant ambulatory/community pharmacy experience required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience; Successful completion of a Post Graduate-Year 1 (PGY-1) accredited pharmacy practice required; PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in New York State upon hire required
