Platform Engineer

Forget "DevOps" as a buzzword. Here, it’s the atomic engine of their business. Not looking for just another engineer but a Technical Lead to act as the primary catalyst within their Platform Centre of Excellence. They need a heavy hitting Tech Lead to bridge the gap between high level architectural strategy and elite level, hands-on engineering. This is a role for the engineer who has outgrown "Senior" and is ready to act as the Technical North Star for some of the most ambitious cloud native projects in the UK. Don't think it's just a "management only" desk job. They need a leader who still loves the keyboard but has the vision to steer a high performing team.

Responsibilities

Define the long-term strategy for resilient, hybrid-cloud Kubernetes environments; Write complex Helm charts and extend Terraform modules; Act as the technical North Star for the engineering team; Work within an elite unit to ensure platforms are secure, powerful, and empower developers to deliver at lightning speed; Bridge the gap between high level architectural strategy and elite level, hands-on engineering

Requirements

Battle tested experience scaling Kubernetes; Deep love for clean Infrastructure as Code; Enjoy the Lead aspect of a role, pairing with engineers, conducting high level reviews, and fostering a culture of technical excellence; Understand that the best platforms are those that get out of the way and let developers win; A systems thinker who spots a weak point before it breaks and automates a solution before it becomes urgent
