Private Credit Analyst

The Private Credit Analyst will maintain financial models and capital structure data across a growing universe of business development companies (BDCs) and other closed-end private credit funds, supporting Octus’s coverage of the private credit market. The Analyst will possess strong analytical skills, financial statement fluency, and the tenacity to work through complex, data-heavy deliverables on a recurring schedule.

Responsibilities

Maintain three-statement financial models for a portfolio of 40–50 BDCs reporting quarterly; Upload and maintain capital structure data; Produce portfolio updates and summaries aligned to each company’s reporting cadence; Track financing activity across the BDC market, logging new reported financing from banks and other lenders, including cost of capital and provider details; Contribute to full private credit coverage used in individual company analysis, published reports, and site content, including expansion of quarterly trend reports to incorporate financing activity overviews; Respond to recurring data requests from internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Degree in economics, accounting, or finance; Ability to interpret financial statements to evaluate business performance and translate business drivers into quantitative models; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the tenacity to work through complex issues; Strong interest in credit markets or financial markets more broadly; Eagerness to learn and apply new skills to grow professionally and personally
