Product Engineer, DaaS

We're looking for a Product Engineer to join our Data as a Service team in San Francisco. The Data as a Service team exists to unstick robotics, autonomous vehicle, and medical imaging AI. Customers hand over robotics video, LiDAR, and medical imaging, and the team hands back labels. The team's work is largely greenfield, with no legacy system and no playbook, and the team is building the machine that produces physical-world training data.

Responsibilities

Talk to the customer, figure out what matters, make the product call, ship it, and own the outcome; Design the workflow where human reviewers and AI models hand work back and forth thousands of times an hour so it feels seamless to the customer; Build one product that flexes across robotics, AV, and healthcare without turning into three products; Take end-to-end ownership from product, design, and architectural decisions through deployment, monitoring, and measuring impact on users; Work autonomously to drive projects forward and collaborate to solve challenging problems together

Requirements

Are a builder: know the difference between having a job and building something; have founded something, been engineer #1, or been the engineer PMs route ambiguous work to; Are experienced: have personally built and maintained systems from scratch and understand the trade-offs of shipping reliable, performant software at speed; Want customers in the room: prefer first-hand discovery calls, feedback, and iteration over reading tickets; Are a team player: raise the people around them and help others contribute their best work
