Progress Developer II

We are seeking a skilled and motivated SE II Developer with good experience in object-oriented programming and enterprise application development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bug fixing, enhancing existing systems, and developing new features while ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions. Experience with Progress OpenEdge ABL (OOABL) and exposure to QAD ERP systems will be a an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues and bugs in a timely manner; Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Progress OOABL and Java; Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC); Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices; Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and stakeholders; Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards; Support production systems and provide technical assistance when required; Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes

Requirements

Experience 4- 8 years; Strong experience in Progress OpenEdge ABL (OOABL); Experience with at least one additional object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C++, C#, Python); Solid understanding of OOPS concepts and design principles; Experience in bug fixing, debugging, and performance tuning; Familiarity with relational databases and SQL; Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC); Good problem-solving and analytical skills; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Nice to have

Experience or exposure to QAD ERP products; Knowledge of enterprise application architecture; Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git); Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
