Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Surgery

Aurora Medical Center Washington County - Day Surgery Center is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (0.7 FTE, 28 hours per week). Schedule is Monday to Friday with variable off days, 8-hour shifts with variable start times between 0430 and 1230, no weekends, no holidays and no call. The department works with a broad spectrum of surgical patients, including orthopedic, gastrointestinal, general, ENT, urology, spine, podiatry, gynecological, ophthalmology, and pain procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures; Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication; Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing; Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or within 6 months of hire; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or within 6 months of hire; Must be able to work variable start times; At least one year of experience in Med Surg, ICU or ER is ideal, but not necessary

Nice to have

Previous surgical services experience; minimum of 2 years of bedside inpatient nursing; previous background with medical conditions along with medications
