Registered Nurse RN NICU

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. Part-time day position, 6AM - 6:30PM, working two 12-hour shifts. Nursery/NICU nurses care for infants in the level II nursery environment while also floating to Postpartum to care for mother and baby. Qualified candidates must have prior RN experience in NICU. Based at Banner Ocotillo Medical Center, Neo-Natal ICU-Hosp department.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; Formulates, implements and revises the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team; Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, including delegation and supervision of other licensed nurses and personnel; Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; Provides care based on the best evidence available and participates in education, orientation, precepting and mentoring; Cares for infants in a level II nursery and floats to Postpartum to care for mother and baby; Interacts with staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts

Requirements

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice; BLS certification required; Prior RN experience in NICU; Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired; Maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations

Nice to have

Bachelor's degree preferred; Professional certification preferred; Additional related education and/or experience preferred
