Registered Nurse Triage Nurse VNA Per Diem

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager – Extended Hours, assists with the direct supervision of extended hours and per visit nurses in the Braintree and Hanover Offices, as well as assigned clerical staff. Provides direct patient care as necessary.

Responsibilities

Schedules and prioritizes eve/weekend/holiday nursing visits according to patient acuity and nurse availability; Provides direct clinical supervision to weekend and per visit nurses; Receives new patient referrals on eve/weekend/holiday shifts; Communicates and collaborates with the healthcare provider team on weekend/holiday shifts; Serves as triage nurse for patient, physician and family inquiries; Provides direct patient care when nurse to patient visit ratio exceeds Agency standards; Completes weekend/holiday reports and required documentation; Maintains professional development and clinical competency; Adheres to safety and infection control guidelines

Requirements

Graduate of an NLN approved school of nursing; Two (2) years of acute care experience required; Read, write and speak English; Current valid Drivers License; Excellent assessment skills; RN-Registered Nurse license from the Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts); Required 1 weekend per month; Occasional evening and holiday commitment

Nice to have

Equivalent to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in an NLN-approved school of nursing; Two years of community health nursing experience; Homecare experience a plus; Excellent assessment skills
