Reporting to the Testing Manager, he/she will be involved in carrying out Testing Projects focused mainly on the study of the structural durability and abuse performance of the vehicles .

The Test Engineer will be in charge of the execution of the testing projects which he/she will be assigned for and will act as window person with the client. The successful Test Engineer has a self-starting mentality, enjoys working hands-on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of "client" satisfaction from technical and quality points of view.

In particular, the Test Engineer will be in charge of the following responsibilities and duties :

Responsibilities

Study of client’s test requirements.; Create test procedures, plans and test reports to support the test project.; Specify instrumentation & equipment on test vehicles and perform test data collection (RLDA) using sensors like wheel force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers etc.; Design, creation and implementation of automated data analysis scripts to analyse the collected data.; Analyse and process the collected test data and check for data integrity.; Work in close collaboration with vehicle technicians, instrumentation and design teams.; Write test reports to document results of testing and to communicate issues found.; Maintain a clean and organized work environment.; The role will be based in IDIADA Spain and will require travel based on project characteristics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; 1+ years of experience in vehicle-level testing projects related to the activities described in Job Description section.; Proficient use and handling of test equipment including:; Wheel force transducers; Accelerometers; Strain gauges; String potentiometers; Data acquisition systems (Quantum, eDAQ); Data acquisition and analysis platforms (CATMAN, Glyphworks n-Code, Siemens TestLab, RPC); Programming and analytical tools (MATLAB, Python); Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; Experience writing formal procedures, plans, and technical reports; Comfortable leading client meetings and presenting test results with technical depth; Fluent in English (written and spoken); Proactive – shows eagerness in learning & finding ways to meet deliverables without dependency.; Curiously investigate everything – ability to solve problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively.; Lead with confidence – thought leaders who empower those around them.; Learn by doing – an entrepreneurial mindset that’s driven by hands-on experimentation.; Embrace resilience – seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity and invitation to grow.
