Security Operations Supervisor - Overnights

Security Operations Supervisor at American Security & Investigations. Shift: Wednesday - Sunday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (40 hours per week). Location: Minneapolis, MN. The Third Shift Security Supervisor is responsible for training, coordinating, directing, and overseeing security personnel assigned to the overnight shift, ensuring staff perform their duties in accordance with established policies, post orders, patrol requirements, and building security procedures. The position serves as the primary supervisory presence for the overnight security operation and is responsible for maintaining staff readiness, operational consistency, and effective incident response.

Responsibilities

Direct, coordinate, and oversee the daily responsibilities of all security personnel assigned to the third shift; Ensure officers are properly assigned to their posts, patrol areas, and other designated responsibilities; Monitor staff performance and ensure officers remain alert, professional, and engaged; Conduct shift briefings; Verify that required patrols, inspections, reports, and other assigned duties are completed; Address staff concerns, performance deficiencies, and policy violations; Maintain appropriate staffing coverage; Train new and existing security officers on building procedures, post orders, patrol requirements, access control, emergency protocols, and incident reporting; Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to officers; Evaluate officers' understanding of assignments and identify areas requiring corrective training; Respond promptly to building emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, security threats, disturbances, suspicious activity, and property damage; Coordinate with Minneapolis Police, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, and building management as required; Provide direction to officers during emergencies; Ensure incidents are documented thoroughly and accurately; Notify the Security Manager of significant incidents; Ensure required building patrols, inspections, access control procedures, and security checks are completed; Monitor building conditions and identify suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security vulnerabilities; Verify that security equipment, keys, access credentials, and other assigned resources are accounted for; Review shift activity logs, incident reports, and officer documentation; Ensure significant issues are communicated to the incoming shift and management; Lead by example; Promote teamwork, accountability, and clear communication; Maintain confidentiality regarding building operations, tenants, employees, and incident information; Perform other security-related duties as assigned by the Security Manager

Requirements

You must be 18 years old; For safety reasons, you must be able to speak English; A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check are required; Be able to meet physical requirements including walking and patrolling, climbing stairs, and performing CPR
