SEIU Environmental Svcs Worker

Performs general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings such as residence halls, hospital, administration/academic buildings, etc.

Responsibilities

Performs general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings; Operates housekeeping and floor maintenance machines/equipment to strip, wax, and buff floors; Performs cleaning and disinfecting procedures by fogging rooms and washing floors, walls, furniture, and fixtures; Washes walls, ceilings, stairs, windows, and cleans overhead equipment; Empties wastebaskets, picks up trash, and loads dump truck; Performs custodial duties such as moving equipment, changing light bulbs, and shoveling snow; Maintains cleanliness of work storage closet and equipment

Requirements

Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions; Stands, walks, bends, and reaches continuously; Handles heavy and medium-weight material, equipment, and supplies; Normally exposed to refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes, and odors indoors and outdoors; Occasionally exposed to possibility of contact with infection and infectious diseases
