SEN Learning Support Assistant - Key Stage 2

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September. This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism and associated learning needs. The pupil is a bright and engaging child who benefits from structure, consistency, and positive relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping them access learning, develop confidence, and navigate the school day successfully. The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and places pupil wellbeing at the centre of everything they do. Responsibilities

Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day; Supporting classroom engagement and participation; Implementing strategies recommended by the SENDCo; Encouraging social interaction and independence; Monitoring and recording progress against targets; Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals

Requirements

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting; A calm, patient, and nurturing approach; Strong communication and relationship-building skills; Confidence managing occasional dysregulation; A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
