Senior Accountant General Ledger (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

Independently lead and reconcile general ledgers for designated entities; Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and act as expert contact for external audits and tax reviews; Ensure data integrity between operational sub-systems and the general ledger and execute automation opportunities; Oversee complex financial instruments and drive special projects such as accounting for Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) structures or receivables sales; Own seamless reconciliation and settlement between entities; Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and internal policies

Requirements

Extensive practical professional experience in General Ledger accounting, ideally in financial services, fintech, or scale-up environment; solid domain expertise in accounting under German GAAP (HGB); proven track record handling complex financial instruments (e.g., ABS structures or receivables sales); degree in business/finance or qualification as Certified Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK); in-depth experience applying and optimizing modern ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA); strong team spirit and ability to articulate complex financial matters with precision; German (min. B2); strong professional English proficiency

Nice to have

Initial practical exposure to or solid knowledge of IFRS; Experience collaborating with Product or Tech teams to automate interfaces and financial sub-systems
