Senior Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:; Maintain accurate standard costs for new and existing products.; Maintain adequate internal controls to ensure the accuracy of inventory.; Work with all financial aspects of inventory including: inventory reconciliation, inventory management, inventory journal entries, preparation of MOH and slow moving/obsolete inventory reports.; Complete month end journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze variances, and complete bridge schedules and spending analyses.; Collect and analyze data to determine the cost of business activities, such as raw material costs, labor, freight, packaging and other variable costs.; Work with operations, sales and marketing teams to proactively improve KPIs, including slow moving and obsolete inventory and MOH, and identify areas to improve profitability.; Review and analyze purchase price variation (PPV).; Develop and communicate intercompany transfer prices.; Financial leader for cycle count inventory program, including ensuring counts are in compliance with ITW Policy, researching discrepancies, and reporting on root causes.; Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor degree required; CPA preferred; 5+ years of accounting experience; Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles/practices; Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze raw data and apply creative/innovative analysis, to form key, succinct, and actionable insights/recommendations; Attention to detail; Collaborative and highly communicative with high orientation to teamwork
