Senior Development Technologist

We have an opportunity for a Senior Development Technologist to join our Development team in Hamilton. Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards, and build long-term relationships with major multiple retailers and the foodservice channel. The Senior Development Technologist will work as part of the development team, leading the development of innovative new products and processes for one or more of our customers or brands. They will ensure our bakery products are produced and delivered effectively to the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of innovative new products and processes for customers or brands; Ensure bakery products are produced and delivered effectively to customer satisfaction; Develop new products to meet internal and external standards and requirements; Manage focused development of new products to deliver required margin; Monitor and benchmark product quality of new and existing products and raise issues with development manager; Develop critical paths, organise and control resources to deliver products and processes to agreed quality and timescale

Requirements

Excellent organisation and communication skills; Experience in a similar development position innovating new products and processes in response to customer briefs; Great attention to detail; Ability to present new product and process facts and ideas clearly, accurately and confidently to customers internally and externally; Willingness to travel to visit other sites and customers

Nice to have

Degree preferred Food science / technology or similar degree / HND equivalent or relevant experience; Knowledge and interest of Food; Excellent communication skills; Computer literate – computer skills and knowledge of word and excel systems; Driving license; Basic or above Food hygiene
