Senior Geotechnical Engineer

The Role: This is an opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take on a key role within a high-performing team, contributing across investigation, design, and project delivery. You’ll be involved in a diverse range of projects spanning infrastructure, transport, and large-scale land development, with the scope to step into greater technical leadership and client-facing responsibilities. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to further develop both your technical and project management capability.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage geotechnical site investigations and data collection; Undertake geotechnical analysis and design across foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability; Develop ground models, specifications, and technical documentation; Prepare interpretative and design reports; Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships; Mentor and support junior engineers; Contribute to project delivery, programme management, and commercial outcomes

Requirements

BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); ~5+ years’ experience within a geotechnical consulting environment; Strong technical capability across investigation, analysis, and design; Experience delivering projects and engaging with clients; Clear and confident communication skills; Full NZ driver’s licence

Nice to have

Postgraduate qualification in geotechnical engineering; Experience mentoring or leading junior staff; Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or land development projects; Strong commercial awareness
