Senior People Ops Manager (International)

Photoroom, founded in 2019 and part of Y Combinator's 2020 cohort, is a visual solution for e-commerce with 300+ million users worldwide. The Senior People Operations Manager will own and improve the systems, processes and operational foundations behind the People function across all markets, including payroll, HRIS, contracts, compliance, benefits, employee lifecycle operations, immigration, people data and HR tooling. The role reports to the VP People as a senior individual contributor with no direct reports today.

Responsibilities

Own and run monthly payroll for France and European population, and twice-monthly US payroll; Manage relationships with payroll, EOR and employment providers; Maintain French statutory obligations and HR compliance calendar; Own the operational administration of the CSE; Monitor employment law developments and translate changes into concrete actions; Coordinate compliance across European and US setups; Manage employment contracts, amendments, offer letters, attestations and standard HR letters; Set service levels for recurring People Ops requests; Build People playbooks and documentation; Administer onboarding and offboarding; Handle promotions, compensation changes, leaves and other employee changes; Manage immigration and visa administration; Administer benefits and manage providers across France, Europe and the US; Run annual benefits renewals with Finance and the VP People; Support compensation benchmarking and salary band maintenance; Own HRIS configuration, permissions, workflows, integrations and data quality; Assess opportunities to consolidate or improve the HR technology stack; Automate repetitive workflows; Build documentation and self-service infrastructure for employee support

Requirements

Experience owning a meaningful People Operations scope in a fast-moving company of 100+ employees; Hands-on experience with French payroll and employment compliance; Experience owning People Operations processes, workflows, and controls; HRIS experience, with configuring and improving a comparable system mattering more than Hibob experience specifically; A systems mindset and a strong instinct for automation; Excellent operational judgement; High standards of accuracy, discretion and follow-through; Comfort operating independently in a small team where you will both design the process and run it; Fluent French and English; Based in Paris and able to work from the office at least three days per week
