Senior Youth Support Worker

Do you have previous management or leadership experience in either Youth & Family Services, Community Services, Employment Services, Hospitality or Retail and enjoy leading and supporting your Business Manager and co-workers? Join APM as a Senior Youth Support Worker in Deception Bay, QLD. Your work will help enable better lives as you guide your team alongside your Business Manager to provide support to young people to achieve ongoing education and/or employment. The role: You'll be empowering and motivating Youth Support Workers to drive the absolute best outcomes for their clients. Your teams' success is what drives you, so sharing your knowledge through mentoring and coaching will be important, supporting them to hit their KPIs. You'll also lead by example, engaging with your own clients to provide tailored employment services.

Responsibilities

Guide your team alongside your Business Manager to provide support to young people to achieve ongoing education and/or employment; Empower and motivate Youth Support Workers to drive the best outcomes for clients; Share knowledge through mentoring and coaching; Support the team to hit KPIs; Lead by example, engaging with own clients to provide tailored employment services

Requirements

Previous management and leadership experience; Ability to coach, motivate and provide guidance; A proactive mindset and willingness to step up and take responsibility; Proven experience working to KPIs in a results-driven environment; A creative problem solver who can tackle complex issues as they arise; Ability to establish strong relationships with Community organisations, Schools, and RTOs; Willing to complete a Criminal History Check; Working with Children Check (Blue card); A current driver's licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle; Willingness to obtain a Cert IV Youth Work, Cert IV Employment Services, Cert IV Community Services or equivalent if formal qualifications are not held; Driven to exceed personal and professional goals; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Ability to identify a person's strengths to create solutions outside the square; Resilience; Time management skills; Excellent communication skills; Composure and adaptability; Motivated to go above and beyond for participants

Nice to have

Formal qualification in Cert IV Youth Work, Cert IV Employment Services, Cert IV Community Services or higher or equivalent; Background in sales, retail, call centre, hospitality, consulting, business development, or administration
