Work in concert with the radiologists to obtain high quality ultrasound images and provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Work in concert with the radiologists to obtain high quality ultrasound images and provide exceptional patient care; Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department; Explain the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety; Prioritize workflow in regard to patient condition and ensure patients' arrival and departure occur in a timely manner; Follow and support OSHA regulations and use universal precautions when required; Clean examination surfaces between patients; Work within a team to achieve patient and team goals; Follow routine standards and properly and safely manipulate equipment to obtain images; Critique images for quality and make necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound certification with ARDMS or ARRT; ARDMS certified within first year of employment required; Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications; Ability to work in a stressful environment; Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly; Ability to perform diagnostic procedures and to meet the specific needs of various patient age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric

Nice to have

Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; 1 year experience in sonography
