Sr. Process Designer

Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact: we're hiring a Sr Process Designer. Design industrial and agricultural processing facilities that propel commerce and create an efficient and safe facility for our customers. Our Process team's work is focused on producing process equipment layout, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) / process flow diagrams, equipment and instrumentation specifications for industrial agricultural processing facilities.

Responsibilities

Work with engineers and project managers to prepare complete construction documents and assist during construction support phase and act as primary technical contact on projects; Prepare proposals and required drafting fees; Understand and convey scope, schedules and end-product needs to internal project team; Layout plans, sections and details to specified VAA/client CAD standards working directly with engineers and project managers; Review project documents for coordination with all disciplines to avoid and resolve conflicts; Participate in internal coordination meetings and client coordination meetings; Design and layout preliminary concepts and accurately communicate the content; Prepare and edit specifications, coordinate with drawings, and review shop drawings; Communicate with client and contractors regarding RFIs and field questions; Support project team in nurturing the client relationship; Provide direction and distribute work to technicians, designers and engineers; Mentor and train technical staff to produce high quality design services and deliverables; Perform quality control review; Perform site visits as needed

Requirements

Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher and at least 8 years of directly related experience; at least 9 years of directly related experience in lieu of certificate
