Sr. Software Engineer - Investor Solutions

Addepar's Research Engineering team works with financial researchers to turn a large financial dataset into insight. The Senior Software Engineer will help design, build, and optimize the next-generation Research Platform, including big data work in Databricks and web applications. The role involves enterprise risk calculation engines and private fund analytics and benchmarking tools that handle large data volumes and complex asset classes, and includes leading key architectural work, mentoring teammates, and building resilient, high-throughput systems.

Responsibilities

Work across the stack, including Python, Databricks, Java, and web technologies; Take projects through the full software lifecycle: design, architecture, prototyping, development, release, iteration, and monitoring; Build new systems and improve existing ones, from small fixes to large projects; Partner with researchers and product managers to shape the platform's direction; Share knowledge through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience; Strong experience with Python or Java; Experience designing and operating production systems; Clear communication with both technical and non-technical collaborators; Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship, and authorized to begin work on the first day of employment

Nice to have

Experience with Databricks, Spark, or other large-scale data processing; Experience with web application development; Familiarity with financial data, risk analytics, or investment concepts
