Supervisor, Pharmacy Techs - Outpatient Pharmacy

Acts as a member and leader of the pharmacy technician team. Oversees adequate training and management of training materials for the area of supervision, in conjunction with the Training Specialist for their area (if applicable). Establishes the work schedule for the area of supervision and evaluates performance of direct reports. Ensures that all pharmacy technician functions are completed in alignment with state, federal and local regulations. Completes all activities under direct supervision and approval of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities

Acts as a member and leader of the pharmacy technician team; Oversees adequate training and management of training materials for the area of supervision; Establishes the work schedule for the area of supervision and evaluates performance of direct reports; Ensures that all pharmacy technician functions are completed in alignment with state, federal and local regulations; Completes all activities under direct supervision and approval of a licensed pharmacist; Establishes a team schedule and maintains positive team dynamics; Coordinates training schedule and assignments for newly employed pharmacy technicians; Conducts performance evaluations of direct reports; Supports pharmacy policies and initiatives; Serves as liaison between technicians and pharmacy leadership

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent; 3 years of acute hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician, or relevant management experience in the health care setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Demonstrated aptitude and ability to effectively provide leadership and direction to coworkers; Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (Currently PTCB) and maintain ongoing education requirements upon hire
