Support Worker

Support a Bright & Joyful 10-Year-Old Girl with Additional Needs. We are looking for a kind, reliable, and patient Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a lovely 10-year-old girl with a SETD1B gene diagnosis (a rare neurodevelopmental condition). She has a moderate learning disability, well-managed epilepsy, and some mobility challenges. The role involves supporting her to access social and leisure activities, providing reassurance and supervision due to balance and mobility needs, encouraging play, learning, and engagement, assisting with personal care in a dignified and respectful manner, and ensuring her safety at all times. Full training, guidance, and ongoing support will be provided.

Responsibilities

Provide both practical and emotional support; Help her enjoy everyday activities safely while building confidence and independence; Support her to access social and leisure activities; Provide reassurance and supervision due to balance and mobility needs; Encourage play, learning, and engagement; Assist with personal care in a dignified and respectful manner; Ensure her safety at all times

Requirements

Kind, reliable, and patient; Patient, caring, and dependable; Confident (or willing to learn) supporting a child with additional needs; Comfortable assisting with personal care; Able to follow care plans and guidance; A good communicator with a positive attitude; Enhanced DBS check required; References will be needed
