Team Member, Petsense

This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks, while providing legendary customer service.

Interacting with customers and team members; Supporting selling initiatives; Performing assigned tasks; Providing legendary customer service; Maintaining regular and predictable attendance; Working scheduled shifts and varied hours; Operating cash register/computer following cash handling procedures; Recovery of merchandise; Participating in freight process; Executing Plan-o-gram procedures; Assembling merchandise; Performing janitorial duties; Executing price changes/markdowns; Assisting customers with loading purchases; Ensuring safety and well-being of live animals; Sanitizing and maintaining holding tanks and caring for live animals; Handling and caring for all live animals including their food, bedding and habitat; Completing documentation associated with job duties; Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

Maintain regular and predictable attendance; Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs; Take the initiative to support selling initiatives (TEAM); Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures; Recovery of merchandise; Participate in freight process; Execute to completion Plan-o-gram procedures; Assemble merchandise; Perform janitorial duties; Execute price changes/markdowns; Assist customers with loading purchases; Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals; Sanitize and maintain holding tanks and care for live animals as required; Handle and care for all live animals including their food, bedding and habitat; Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties; Perform other duties as assigned; Must be able to read, write and count accurately; Ability to lift 50+ pounds; Ability to move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store; Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with the assistance of proper material handling equipment; Ability to complete all required training and certification; Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers; Physical stamina and ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely; Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders; Ability to operate store equipment such as computer, cash register, and other store equipment

Nice to have

Retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge; High school diploma or equivalent; Pet/Live Animal, pet food, pet product knowledge; Strong communication and problem-solving skills; Basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict
