Track Laborer - Indiana

Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Track Laborers in Indiana to support track construction, maintenance, and inspection projects. This is a hands-on, outdoor role working as part of a team to ensure safe and efficient rail operations. In this role, you will perform physically demanding labor, assist with track installation and maintenance, and support field operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Drive spikes and assist with track installation and maintenance; Move and set cross ties and sections of rail; Shovel ballast and support track alignment; Adjust and lubricate switches; Tighten track bolts and hardware; Check track gauge and cross level; Carry and use track tools and equipment (including track jack ~40 lbs); Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE; Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments; Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy materials and equipment; Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work on uneven terrain; Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team; Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures; Basic math and reading comprehension skills

Nice to have

High school diploma or GED preferred; Military experience is a plus
