Ultrasound Technologist Full Time IMMC

Ultrasound Technologist position at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Full time; day shift 4 Ten hour days, alternating weekends. Benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality; operating portable ultrasound equipment for portable procedures; assisting physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies; obtaining patient history for each procedure; maintaining positive guest relations with patients, fellow employees and personnel; complying with hospital safety standards; maintaining CPR certification; documenting patient records and preparing ultrasound rooms; operating Hospital Information Computer Systems; keeping abreast of current ultrasound skills and new developments; instructing students and fellow technologists; treating patients with respect and compassion; maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

Graduation from a program approved by ARDMS; Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by ARDMS needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by ARDMS needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by ARDMS needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by ARRT needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by CCI needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by ARDMS needs to be obtained within 18 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by CCI needs to be obtained within 18 months unless department leader has determined it is not required; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association needs to be obtained within 6 months; possess technical knowledge to perform all ultrasound studies with minimal assistance; able to identify pathology and abnormalities and present findings to Radiologist; ability to adjust to flexible hours, work odd hours, respond to emergency call back, stand for long periods, lift patients, operate portable equipment, deal with extremely ill patients, communicate with patients, participate in on-call program, and lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
