Village Hotel Dishwasher - Full Time

Starting pay is $17/hour. The dishwasher will be primarily responsible for washing and storing all dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans and other cooking utensils, and will maintain all aspects of kitchen sanitation. This position will also provide general assistance and support for the leadership, department, and company.

Responsibilities

Wash and store all dishes, glasses, flatware, pots, pans and other cooking utensils; Maintain all aspects of kitchen sanitation; Clean and store pots, pans and utensils properly; Clean sink and pots area after every shift; Maintain floor cleanliness through consistent mopping and sweeping; Clean dish machine; Empty all garbage and clean cans when needed; Daily cleaning of all food and beverage areas as instructed, including walls, ceiling, lights, equipment and receiving area; Assist in receiving and storing items from delivery trucks and ensure proper storage and rotation of product; Maintain rear receiving and trash areas in a clean and orderly fashion; Ensure work area is clean at all times; Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards; Participate in department recycling program; Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Restaurant Chef; May help kitchen with food prep on occasion; Provide general assistance and support for the leadership, department and company

Requirements

Weekend and evening availability is a priority; Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds; Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree, standing entire shift mainly in the dish area; Ability to follow basic safety precautions in an environment with some physical risks; Ability to work in a restaurant or kitchen environment with fluctuations in temperature and conditions; Ability to enter and exit coolers/freezers throughout the shift; Exposure to chemicals such as cleaning liquids and dish detergent; Ability to work in a fast-paced and loud environment
