VP, Platform Engineering

As the Vice President of Platform Engineering, you lead a team of around 20 engineers and 4 managers across backend platform, frontend platform, DevOps, architecture, accessibility, and quality assurance. You set the platform technology strategy and own its execution. Every product engineer builds on the platform you own, from cloud infrastructure to the internal developer platform to our AI tooling. Your mandate is to remove friction at the source, so stream-aligned product teams ship more, at higher quality. Growing the people on your team matters as much as the platform itself. You mentor your engineers and managers, and you provide them with the support to develop in their roles and careers. This role reports to the CPO/CPTO and sits on the Product leadership team.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of around 20 engineers and 4 managers across backend platform, frontend platform, DevOps, architecture, accessibility, and quality assurance; Set the platform technology strategy and own its execution; Remove friction at the source so stream-aligned product teams ship more, at higher quality; Mentor engineers and managers and support their development; Report to the CPO/CPTO and sit on the Product leadership team; Partner with the VP of Product Engineering to jointly set priorities; Bring a strategic lens to the platform org and turn leverage points into a prioritized roadmap; Make technical calls that reduce friction and let product teams ship faster; Surface platform-level vulnerabilities and close them before they become incidents; Own the platform surfaces: internal developer platform, AI platform, infrastructure/cloud/DevOps, frontend platform, backend platform, quality engineering, architecture, and security posture.

Requirements

You've led platform or infrastructure engineering at scale, with 12+ years in engineering and 5+ years leading other leaders; You've built or matured an internal developer platform that engineers have adopted by choice; You're deeply versed in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, reliability, and cost management; You've set architectural direction across multiple teams and made it stick; You can reason about AI and LLM platform needs: gateways, evals, observability, and safety tooling; You come from a background of fast-scaling SaaS product companies; You stay curious about AI and experiment with it in how teams work; You hire well, set clear standards, and give teams room to own their work; You're fluent in English.
