Welder, Structural Steel

The Structural Steel Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling structural steel components using flux-core welding processes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position is essential in producing high-quality steel assemblies for EZARC's fabrication operations.

Responsibilities

Perform flux-core (FCAW) welding on structural steel per project drawings and weld symbols; Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately; Fit, align, and secure parts using clamps, jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools; Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications; Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and assemblies; Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace in clean, safe condition; Follow all company safety policies and participate in required pre-task planning and safety meetings; Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other team members to ensure quality and production goals are met; Report any material defects, drawing discrepancies, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Ability to certify a 3G test using 3/8 Plate and 1/16 wire; Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols; Knowledge of safe rigging and material handling; Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety; Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods; Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Nice to have

Minimum of 2 years' experience in flux-core welding of structural steel; Certification to AWS D1.1 standards
