Commercial Lines Agent

Homer Insurance Center, an office of Leavitt Group Northwest, is looking for a Commercial Lines Agent for their busy office in Homer, Alaska. This position will provide support to the customer and internal sales staff on all Commercial Lines Insurance business. Sales support will consist of developing new accounts, quoting new business coverage, maintaining existing accounts, cross-selling existing accounts, and forwarding submission packages to the appropriate carrier.

Responsibilities

Accurately maintain all customer information in the computer system (AMS360); Speak with customers and company personnel by phone or in person and respond to all written correspondence; Handle commercial client renewals; Handle remarketing and policy change requests; Answer coverage questions, recommend coverage, process policy change information, take claim information, collect premiums, submit proper documents to the company, and verify documents received from the company; Review current underwriting information to qualify customers for improved programs and monitor renewal premiums for excessive increases; Develop existing accounts by providing additional coverage or adding lines of business (cross-sell); Support customers and internal sales staff on all Commercial Lines Insurance business, including developing new accounts, quoting new business coverage, maintaining existing accounts, and forwarding submission packages to the appropriate carrier

Requirements

Property & Casualty License not required, but candidates without licensing must be willing to obtain one within 90 days of employment; Strong sales skills; Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
