Horticulture Tutor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Horticulture Tutor to join our Skills team, delivering the Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Operative apprenticeship standards across the North of England. As our Horticulture Tutor (Apprenticeships), you will manage a caseload of learners by delivering teaching, learning, assessments and progress reviews, while providing ongoing support to help learners achieve their apprenticeship on time. Responsibilities

Delivering the Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Operative apprenticeship standards across the North of England; Managing a caseload of learners; Delivering teaching, learning, assessments and progress reviews; Providing ongoing support to help learners achieve their apprenticeship on time; Maintaining accurate learner records using the e-portfolio system; Ensuring all documentation is compliant with DWP and awarding body requirements; Working closely with employers; Monitoring learner progress; Embedding Functional Skills; Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and health and safety throughout the learner journey; Developing and maintaining strong employer partnerships; Promoting apprenticeship programmes; Supporting the recruitment and enrolment of apprentices; Identifying opportunities to grow provision across the region; Conducting workplace reviews and progress meetings; Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback via online portfolio; Setting SMART targets and agreeing next steps; Keeping learner records accurate, timely and audit-ready; Maintaining regular contact with employers and workplace mentors; Building trusted relationships with employers across the region, opening doors to new apprenticeship opportunities

Requirements

Recognised Horticulture qualification at Level 3 or above; Be occupationally competent or technically knowledgeable in horticulture; Have credible experience in the industry; Solid practical, hands-on capability in horticulture, gained through industry experience (grounds maintenance, landscaping, parks, nurseries or estates), or through the practical elements of your recent training; A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region; Great communication skills and the confidence to build rapport with learners and employers alike

Nice to have

An assessor qualification (A1/CAVA or equivalent); A teaching qualification, or experience tutoring or mentoring; Familiarity with e-portfolio systems or apprenticeship funding rules
